Fart Plate Causes a Stir

The Asheville DMV got a little embarrassed recently when they let one slip 💨. After approving an application for a vanity plate that read "FARTSM" back in October, they quickly retracted their approval a few weeks ago after finding it was "offensive and in poor taste". 

Rather than leave it to the DMV to be the arbiter of taste, local software engineer/hero is fighting the ruling, working tirelessly with a band of merry redditors to keep FART on her plate. 

Naturally, as with most American activism, a shell organization was born - The Friends of Asheville Recreational Trails has developed a healthy following with unclear motives. 

 While this is a truly inspirational story of the lengths people will go to keep their FART accessories, we'd be remiss not to mention that there are far easier options here, here, and here... but what do we know? 😜
